Have you ever been to a Pajama Jamboree at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts? The Festival City Symphony puts on these one hour, free classical pops concerts for kids and their families on select Wednesdays in the Bradley Pavilion of the Marcus Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m, and no registration is required. (Enter through the main entrance, 929 N. Water Street. If you park in the Marcus Center lot, you can use the third level skywalk.)
Each concert includes lively music selections, stories and, and fun guests such as dancers, costumed actors, or children's performing groups. The concerts are casual, and its encouraged for kids to bring their pajamas, teddy bears, and blanket. You can grab a spot on the floor directly in front of the orchestra, or opt for conventional seating.
This Wednesday, November 29th is the "Happy Holidays" Pajama Jamboree. Whitefish Bay High School’s Madrigal Singers will be in attendance for a concert of traditional holiday tunes and an audience sing-along of seasonal favorites.
Orchestral selections will include Selections from “Frozen” (Robert Lopez, arr. Krogstad), Sleigh Ride (Leroy Anderson), Troika from “Lt. Kije Suite” (Sergei Prokofieff), and Brazilian Sleigh Ride (Percy Faith). Whitefish Bay High School Singers will perform March of the Toys from “Babes in Toyland” (Victor Herbert), Christmas Song (Mel Torme), and the singalong Christmas Festival (Leroy Anderson).
The concert is free, but you are encouraged to bring a nonperishable food donation for Milwaukee’s Hunger Task Force.
